It’s a give and take if dev went for P2P then they would have less down loads/votes in which the game would be way down on the list where new players could find the game. This over time could lose the dev money/supporters. Many of the Dev’s make games because they like to share their stories they come up with. It’s a bonus when they make a profit from the story. But there’s many devs only looking for an easy payday there are many dead games/Abandon games because of this.    *Note if you plan to make a game please do your research on the average cost out of pocket it will be. Chuckles here’s a little tip you should write a novel first and get it copyright or in some places you could mail it to yourself depending what country you live in if this will be recognized by your government/Court of Law. Main reason for writing a book first is so when you do start making the visual novel you will already have a ruff story outline. Just remember the more houses, buildings, and places your characters live at or go to the more graphic or images you will have to make. Chuckles that is why we see a lot of schools and colleges and Hotels/multi complex buildings in games. Hope this answers your question Take Care😉
