A very interesting take on Jump King and far less punishing.
I like the way your predictions arrow works. It helps the player a lot. Also the hold = more power functions, that adds nuances to the player moves and also test their reaction.
The character and the world feels bright and bouncy and feel good to play.
There are still a few issues, not too big
The screen moves up and down when you pass through a certain threshold, and move slowly, which doesn't feel good when you are just right below that threshold. Furthermore, you are unable to plan ahead as the screen blocks your sight.
While the hold = power mechanic is great. It is too fast, combined that with the character unable to cancel their jump, it is quite punishing.
Lastly is the level design, many of the challenges only have one way around it with no clear intention behind it. Many parts have 2 ways to proceed, but usually one is simple easier. In Jump King, for example, there are parts where the levels are design, that there are more than a simple path, each path require different abilities, with none being easier than the other. Like a path of fast reaction and another of careful, bit-perfection excution.
Overall, a really fun game in 48 hours. 7.5/10
