---(spoilers ahead)--- a monster who gets a certain idea in her head, and won't rest until she's had enough of the pursuit of it...but she can't ever get enough of it, and so, she drives her tool of choice to the point of breaking. such a dramatic story of obsession!

i think the idea of a monster who yearns to be human - but has a very warped view of what it means to be human - is a very interesting (and dangerous!) thing. particularly when that kind of single-minded desire is supported by a hard-to-kill power source, as the void outside the temporal fabrication here seems to do. and when reaching her goal requires the ignorance of the other participant... you just know that's going to end up with someone going insane. (even if it takes over 1,000 killings to get there.) but of course, it's interesting that rae is the one who wants to be the victim here, as it puts her in the role of the "desired."

in this kind of story, it feels more like rae is simply using hua as a tool, and repeating that she loves her as a mantra of power, a kind of chant that will manifest her real desire, which is to be a "real human." it's uncertain whether she actually has "real feelings" toward hua, or is just mimicking what she thinks will make her wish (and identity) become true. also uncertain is why rae wishes so fervently to become human in the first place. is it a frivolous feeling, born after seeing hua, much like "love at first sight?" and i wonder, has this monstrosity been living inside rae hidden until she met hua in school, and only then awoke, due to this "love?" after going through all 3 repeats, rae is striking me as the frivolous sort of yandere type who doesn't have any reasonable basis for the extremes to which she goes to, so i wonder if there might actually be something deeper?

thanks for sharing! i enjoyed going through and trying to determine rae's motivations. monsters who flirt by trapping their would-be lovers into time-stopped killing games are quite something...
