Why do we have to buy this disappointing game? It was the best free game and now it is the worst game.
It's still free and the same as it always was. You just haven't realized there are two versions. Censored (free) same as it was you were playing.
And premium which is the paid version that sees extra content like the supporters get to see. (which becomes free to view in the next version.)

There is a something i think people do not understand, from the customer side you expect to buy the game, say i buy version 0.20, i get to play all the censored content.
I also expect when 0.21 is out to download free of charge and patch on top of my previous setup on 0.20 with the new 0.21 and still be able to play the new censored content. Since i bought the game once right? i means it's not netflix to pay subscriptions.
What people are trying to understand is this, can i buy the game now and play every future version by paying once the standard fixed price of the game? (that means buying once).
As well enjoy the future updates just like with every other game; Or should i wait for the full release and play the free versions until then in order I'm not overspend.
