The font issue comes from the fact that to achieve a more pixelated look on the graphics IG, we used a 640*360 base viewport that we stretched to 1280*720. I didn't really think through the text situation, hence making it quite ugly indeed.
I'll find correction/better ways to do stuff next time! thanks again for the feedback!
