Hey! That's a great question. You're right, older versions with more "seasons" do exist out there.
However, to be frank, the art, story, and logic in those older builds are in a state that we're no longer proud of. That's why we're doing a complete rework from scratch - massively expanding and improving on everything to meet a much much higher quality standard.
It's a huge undertaking, but we want to deliver the best possible experience. We really hope you understand and look forward to having you with us for the official Season 2!
