With 12" deployment zones on the short end of the table, that means armies start 48" minimum apart. Even indirect artillery can't fire that far - I think the first round would be pretty quiet, and maybe the second as well if the armies don't have a lot of long range weapons (like most AoF armies. They'd probably only start clashing around round 3)

Thank you for you feed back. I do understand that some AoF armies are limited on range. However a good tactician that knows and understands their armies capabilities will know how to get around the range limitations. While list tailoring against your opponent army is frowned upon it does not mean you and your opponent are unable read the mission ahead of time and tailor your army as best you can to the mission. I also understand that both people might decide to play wall armies but that is their decision and they might have a better time with just a battle to the tabling which this mission is not set up for.
While it is true that missions can expect players to build a list fine-tuned for the purpose, I'm not sure the list-building requirements this situation imposes are particularly conductive to a fun experience. You can basically throw out any melee units that don't have Ambush or at least Scout, which might leave you with little actual choices depending on your faction.
