A review of a gremlin ahh gal who loved this game
5/5 Stars!!!
Dear gosh, where do I even start? I guess I should compliment the creator. This is no doubt the BEST vore game out there- I was a tad skeptical at first, going through the first area with little mention of it, but the nice side quests, cute art style and interesting combat kept me hooked.
Then, I randomly died in the second area, and realised how the vore system mainly fuctions, and dear god it was done well!
So... for my lil' mini-review, here's some of my nitpicks. They're very minor, but I still thought I'd mention them to be improved if we ever (and I pray we do) get a sequel.
Nitpicks:
- Pred Player is pretty minor (in combat): Rouletta does eat people on several occaisons story wise, which is appreciated, but I did feel like it could've been used more in combat; the only real vore related wedge is exactly that, the vore wedge, which is very situational and even a bit buggy for me (The animations looked strange). Obviously it's amazing it was put in in the first place, but just like bows, cannons, etc. I think it would be very interesting to see a more vore-centered playstyle become available!
(Example ideas: Vore becomes a few-turn application just like when rouletta gets eaten. Depending on prey they will have 1 or more struggle attacks, but you have certain wedges that have increased effect / different effect while having someone eaten such as Burp wedge, Belly slam, etc.?)
- The Portal travel: It's a fine way of doing travel and I don't hate it, but since you can usually only set your spawnpoint to an area after you beat it I do think it might be a good idea to either make the portal travel cutscene skippable, or to let spawn points be set earlier. A lot of time I was trying to get all the special vore scenes with enemies but had to end up dying for it and then spent as much time traveling back as I did being there.
- Area 1 Enemies too weak? Might be a bit of my own fault with me being such a pro gamer, but I'll be honest- I never really felt threatened by any early enemies except MAYBE false land. I feel like they could really use some buffs, such as;
False land deals more damage / can apply a health sapping debuff
Mercenary mouse gets a blinding move and deals more damage to blinded targets (No joke, I had to actively drink poison to die to this guy, which is a shame because his wedge is super interesting for area one!)
Dastardly dog is good!
Silver swords maybe get a bit more health?
In any case, however this would all be done I think it's a good idea to at least make the enemies punish a mistake, even if they don't instantly become lifethreatening like area 2 enemies.
- Nerf some of 'em wedgers! Lava glob and the magma guy's shield are so stupidly strong It's barely even funny, xD. You can just lava glob into 75 shield AND damage overtime?! That's 125 'healing' in a single turn!!! I'm not complaining since it let me beat the superfinalboss but still :3
- Story final boss different? I like the idea of the 3d final boss and all, but with the incredibly unique combat system in this game I think I would've liked something similar to Chey for the titan fight. A fight with gimmicks and its own things you need to learn that is genuinely challenging! Theres nothing wrong as it is now, but I think it would be a lot more charming. Also.. I kinda lost the 3d fight on purpose, but it counted as a win to the game? Was that intended?
- Lastly: I adore all the enemy designs in this game, they're phenomenal, but I did have trouble finding some of them. Especially the button fairies; I found one at the start of area 2, didn't die to it and then for the rest of that map I saw none of them. Maybe you could make it so all enemies are confined to certain parts of the map? Or at least are more prominent there? It would make for better power-scaling as you progress a map and also makes going back to grind for e.g. honey or certain death scenes you missed much easier!
Edit note: I also didnt really like the goblin/ruin achievements since it had me mashing the space bar button for over an hour to get. Nothing in herently wrong with it but maybe lower the number to like 15-20 encounters to make it more achievable?
And hereby more ideas from my infinitely wise mind! I don't EXPECT a sequel, I want to make that very clear...but I would love to see one :3
They aren't criticisms but more things I thought would be so cool while playing!!!
- Jacques is so cute, maybe add him as a possible companion? Alternatively, kind of like a dating sim, add several characters you can have romantical interactions with to add replayability?
- MORE!!! Enemies! The enemy designs and death scenes are EASILY the best thing in this game, and also their unique wedges. You can't go wrong with more! >w<
- MORE!!! Obstacles on the map! And maybe also different types of maps such as branching paths where you can choose, kind of like in Wargroove 2 Conquest mode?
Besides all this... I've got nothing to say except that this is easily the best vore game on the internet right now and for most of the future. It integrates it in all the right ways and is still entertaining when not being horny, and OH MY GOD CLAM MOMMY I NEED HE-
