the reason why the (sadly discontinued) Aphrodite's alchemist was so good was the meta upgrades, it added something different.

as it stands right now it's just another Suika game.
it needs something to stand out, it needs some spice.

Can you explain this "meta upgrades" mechanic?

after you play a round your points get converted to money that you spend in a shop for permeant beneficial effects for a future runs.

such as going from generating level 1-3 shapes to level 1-6 shapes, bigger play area so it's harder to game over, stronger power up effects and more frequent power ups ect.

you don't need to do that specifically; the point is you need to do something to differentiate your game from all the other  Suika games. go that "one more step"
