I tested out the update, and the game feels nice and smooth.
1) Will there be an animation between standing and morph mode or is it intended to be instant?
2) Overall I'm happy with the gameplay and movement in the game so far and for the map addition.

Will there be an animation between standing and morph mode or is it intended to be instant?
Yes, eventually there will be transitional animations between unmorphed and morphed mode, along with other animations such as turning from left to right and vice versa. The current lack of a budget means I have to be careful to get the most out of what I can afford and prioritize bigger changes over smaller polishes.

Any specific feedback you have on changes? One of the biggest updates to movement was the implementation of a morph jump assist that solved the jumps hitting a ceiling when you try to jump through narrow vertical gaps, previously you had to line everything up fairly strictly but now there's a good amount of leeway that lines up with what you would expect.
Another upcoming change is going to be an option for the Map Screen scrolling to be inverted or not, it's something I've noticed a lot of people give feedback about.
