Ah ok, another question I have is how does ATTACKing someone who didn't take the DEFEND action work? I assume it's all or nothing but do they still draw a DEFEND card or do you just use the DEFEND stat?
the target still draws a card as their defense (ie, card value + DF), as doing so is a contested action- if someone chooses to defend, they then get the benefits/options described in the DEFEND action, including damage reduction. if you take an action against a target or vice versa, assume the default is for them to also draw a card.
