This is a question that is very hard to answer without having more context, and is also dependent on the creator. 

Generally "homage" or fan games are allowed on itch.io, and we are not going to scrutinize a project for being similar to a pre-existing work. Of course, if the original creator doesn't want your work on our marketplace, they can request a DMCA and we have to oblige. Impersonation in the context of our TOS means that you would be wanting to explicitly masquerade as the original developer of A Feast for Odin, which it's clear to me that you don't intend on doing.

Ok, excellent. I understand that I’d be at the whims of the copyright holder should I come to their attention and I’m comfortable with that risk. I’m really just asking about proactive measures from Itch staff, and it sounds like you’re saying I’m probably in the clear there. Thank you very much for the reply!
