I knew every maid very closely. Mika and Nala were the first maids Mother hired. Then came Dianne and Paula. Only a few weeks before... the incident... Mother hired Celine, Mariah, Carrie, and June. You probably don't know those four, though...
Mika and Nala were... kinda more like sisters to me than employees or guardians. They were the ones who came to pick me up when I finished my first semester at university. They always listened to me. Mika threw parties in the ballroom while Mother worked in the basement. That's when I found out I was a fan of red wine when I was 19... after I drank way too much and nearly got myself eaten by a pretty dancer. Nala got me out of that mess.
When Mother locked the house up, Mika and Nala were the ones who stocked the house on essentials while the other maids did the usual maid stuff. The ballroom parties were a lot less exciting after that.
