Heh I wasn't actually thrown by these chord progressions. I think they're interesting.
I think what is actually needed is more development within those progressions and dynamics in terms of expression and balancing/softening the sound.
The composition and structure was actually my favorite part - the thing people tend to have the hardest time with.
