It's a bit more nuanced than it might seem. To keep it short: Steam's ToS include vague restrictions around making an Early Access version available outside of Steam before it's launched there. Since I'm getting close to transitioning the game from early alpha to an actual Early Access release over the next few updates, I'm just playing it safe.
