1st, don't EVER apologize for fixing what you deem to be a problem in earlier work. 2nd, It's your story to tell, and you should tell it the way you want. 
Personally, having read this update, I am now going to spend some money on this project. I was going to wait for a few more chapters. But knowing you care enough about the project to halt new content in favor of correcting old content just makes you one of the better devs. I wish more authors had this level of maturity. So many AVNs suck just because an author never takes the time to fix obvious flaws, even when they have been called out by the readers. I say bravo! Good on you for caring about your work.
