Is your MacBook one of the M-series chip models?
Are you sure you downloaded the right version of the game? If so, I’d suggest deleting it and trying a fresh download just in case.
Still not working. I have an Intel CPU, but even with the nw.js solution you posted it don't work. If i launch the game by clicking on nwjs it opens a NW.js window but the game don't start
Launch the game with the Itch app after replacing.
