I've also found two soft lock bugs; one is if you ask Crystal about the book before giving the homework, then she won't respond to you providing the homework, and the second is that I'm currently stuck in a loop around the bonfire and can't pass the day, I've already completed the quest and met Lilith, but at a certain point when I try and go to bed it says that I should sleep till 3 am for the bonfire then when I do and go to the park nothing happens so I can't even get past the first weekend, not sure if I'm doing something wrong but it's annoying.
Hi. For the Crystal bug, the option of "give her science homework" should be there when speaking to her. Judith's book quest shouldn't interfere with this. Can you confirm you've completed her homework by checking if the "Do Crystal's science homework" option no longer shows up when accessing the computer in the apartment?
I am also trying to replicate the bonfire bug you talked about but i'm struggling to find where the bug occurs so I need a bit more info about this.
1. What time and day does the phone display when the issue occurs
2. When the player says they should sleep til 3am, does the game not allow you to sleep until the next day, even if you try to go back to bed immediately?
3. This happens when you try to manually go to sleep right? (As opposed to being forced to go to sleep due to being awake too late)
I understand now. The bonfire bug is because I, by some reality-warping miracle, did the bonfire stuff and met Lilith on Thursday night instead of Friday cause I'm looking at the time on the phone right before the bug happened. It's saying that it's Friday 15:15, and after I sleep, the time on the phone says 3:0 and that it is Saturday, and yes, it is when I try and interact with the bed manually. You might be right about the homework, but I loaded an old save and did it before the book, and it worked fine.
No it sounds like you did meet her on friday "night" as intended. You go to sleep on friday and then wake up on saturday "morning" at 3AM. so even though you sleep on a friday, you technically wake up for the bonfire on a saturday since its 3 in the morning, if that makes sense.
So, if i'm understanding the issue you're facing: (correct me if i'm wrong) You sleep until 3am, meet lilith, come back to the apartment, player automatically goes back to bed, get text from Ethan in the morning and then the "bonfire quest completed" message. it's now saturday at 8:30, correct? and if you try to sleep, the player sleeps until 3am again as if the bonfire quest is still active? Can you tell me what time and day the phone displays right before you try to sleep when this bug occurs? I am almost certain this issue occurs based on the specific time the player tries to sleep on this day so thats why I need to know exactly what time the phone shows before attempting to sleep when this bug occurs.
And yeah like I said just double check you've completed the homework by making sure the option to do the homework no longer shows up at the computer. As far as I can tell there should be no conflict with the book quest but it's possible i've overlooked something.
EDIT: I believe I may have found the issue. It seems this issue can occur if, on thursday, the player stays awake past midnight (to which it then becomes the early morning of friday) before manually going to sleep. Does this sound like what you did?
The triggering of the player sleeping until 3am occurs when they go to sleep on friday but I overlooked the fact that this could also mean it could trigger if the player stays awake past midnight on thursday before going to sleep (since at that point, the day would be friday), meaning the player would be triggering the bonfire event 1 day earlier than intended. This is an easy fix. I can release a patch later today.
Yeah sorry about that. I definitely should have caught this way earlier in development. I'm surprised this is the first report of it.
