Hi there!

I'm one of the 6 judges for this RPG Maker Game Jam 2025. I was one of the 2 judges assigned to your game, and we have been assigned to rate your games according to each metric highlighted on the game's main jam page, and submit these ratings to the organisers, who will then appropriate what happens with that. Please contact them in the Q&A if you have any further questions about the judging process. The judges will work on different time schedules, so even if I may have finished playing your game, the entire process might not be finished as of yet. Many of these reviews I am posting while still judging.

All that aside, I'd like to share my VOD of me playing your game, which contains up to an hour of gameplay, and some final thoughts at the end! Depending on whether I stopped the VOD early or not, it will also contain many of the thoughts that I say to you below, which may cause repetition. So just be aware of that.

I will also attach a review below this VOD. I will not disclose my ratings for each category as of yet, but those will be revealed in due time. Not all judges are required to post a review or VOD to each game, but many will do so even if it's optional, including myself.

Here's the VOD:

Hi there, developer!

I don't know if you know this, but as an English-first speaker, I must say that I found this to be THE single most hilarious (intentionally and unintentionally) game of the entire jam.

I was bursting out laughing with every moment, and it might not be because of why you think.

The way you've used Google Translate (i think?) to translate this game creates a lot of very funny-sounding idioms in the English language that left me rolling.

Of course, there's also a lot of funny moments that are INTENTIONAL, mind you. Like the hilarious moment when the ONE GUY who is supposed to defend the village gets SPLATTED on top of the house near the middle.

But yes, I must say that I don't know if you know, but I and some of the other content creators have had a ball of a time playing your game, admittedly partially because of its inaccurate translation.

It is unintentionally (and unintentionally) funny. But in truth, I am unable to tell if the story is effective or not because many of the things are lost in translation, and as such, I can't quite tell if it's a story well told or not.

Either way, with the story aside, let's get to the gameplay.

I would say overall that the gameplay left me wanting. The actions required were quite repetitive, and the battles were simple but not very interesting. You kill everything in one hit. It doesn't seem to be the focus right now. Apparently, within my hour-long playthrough, I didn't get to the final boss which is a lot stronger, that my fellow judge Hawk fought. So I can't judge that final battle (3, lol).

I felt the graphics were serviceable with good enemies but the mapping, while sometimes good, was often bare and slightly less than satisfactory. However, it all added up to tell a decent story, which is what mapping is for, and as such, I have to give it good props.

So all in all, thank you for making this game. I truly had a blast playing this game. I learned what "fart a cable" means? Apparently it's a French idiom. But I thank you very much for putting in the time and effort to make a great game, and I encourage you to keep making awesome games.

Every game is a gift. Much love <3
