Ok I thought i figured it out but no luck. Its still not saving correctly. I wanted to try deleting my steam saves to see if that would work but i cannot find where they are located. I i load one of those it picks up and saves but if i start a new game and try to save it doesn't save and the save file i try to overwrite just disappears. I am wondering if ill just have to wait for the steam update. Ill try running a new game on my steam copy and see if it lets me save.

Dang, even on steam its not saving correctly now. I'm not sure what to do. I'm wondering if the two different versions are conflicting with each other and ill just have to wait for the steam update to see if that fixes it. I purged the save files and that didnt work either. Im wondering if i might have to purge it completely and hopefully that will work. I might have to start over completely from scratch but thats fine.

The two versions DO conflict with each other. What you need to do is disable cloud saving on the steam side to keep any progress made in the itch version from being overridden.

Gotcha, thnx bro. Purging everything seems to have worked. I downloaded just the itch.io version and it seems have have let me save last night, when i boot it up again tonight ill know for sure. I lost everything in my museum but like i said thats fine. I really enjoy playing the game. On the steam version for some reason it was like i was invincible, no matter the difficulty i always recieved only 1 or 2 damage. With the itch.io version i actually feel the correct damage which makes the game more enjoyable. Not sure if it was a bug from steam or from the last game version.

yeah the damage scaling and defense calcs are way off in the steam version. I patched them but the steam upload is still pending.
