It's simultaneously very modern, with its gritty collage-style art and design, and very throwback, using Chaosium's Basic Roleplaying System. Definitely worth buying, but I found myself really hungry for a nice glossy hardcopy so I could drink the visuals in to my heart's content.

As a history nerd, I only dug in a few pages deep before I had to post a recommendation. I can't wait to read more!
