Headaches isn't caused by trauma

trauma can cause headaches, both physically and psychologically. Here's how:

If you’ve hit your head or suffered a concussion, trauma can directly cause:

  • Tension headaches

  • Migraines

  • Post-traumatic headaches (can last weeks to months after the injury)

These are especially common after:

  • Falls

  • Accidents

  • Sports injuries

Even without a physical injury, mental trauma can lead to headaches due to:

  • Chronic stress (tightens neck and scalp muscles)

  • Anxiety

  • Sleep disruption

  • Hypervigilance (constant “fight-or-flight” state)

These usually show up as:

  • Tension-type headaches (dull, tight pressure around the head)

  • Stress migraines (throbbing, can come with nausea/sensitivity to light)
