I always carry a hunting knife in my pocket when roaming the woods, could that be scaring her?
I dig the utility knife out of my pocket, along with anything else that could be a weapon, and throw it as far as possible. So about two yards or so.
I slowly walk forward, careful to keep my hands up and open, and my eyes on her.
What the hell is even happening?
I have to try to calm her down.
I pull and unwrapped oatmeal bar out of my bag. She could be hungry, so maybe food could win me some trust? Wait, could she think this could hurt her?
I tear open the green packaging around the granola. I break off a bit of it and eat it.
"It's alright, see? If I can eat it, so can you."
I try to form the shape of the colored tinfoil back over the bar, and toss it over to her.
I hope it doesn't scare her...
I rip off my bag, and unzip the top. There, on the bottom, lays a small orange and a protein bar.
I sit doen slowly, and scootch closer, bit by bit until I'm about 3 feet away from her. The orange is pretty easy to peel, and I toss the peel into the woods. I hold out a segment of the fruit, juice pouring down my hand.
What's she going to do?
Is it even a good idea to be this close?
Take off my jacket, even though it's below freezing, and wrap in around her.
I pick her up and carry her, like a firefighter, for about 15 minutes. With a peeled orange in hand, I carry her to the edge of the woods, and rest for a bit. The journey continues until I reach my dusty mint house, unlock the door, and plop her on the couch ad bibrant as the fruit in my hand.
I can't just undress her and give her clean clothes, but since she's wearing a button up, I take that off from under her sweater and slip her into a large crow neck sweater.
I place her back on the couch and throw a huge comforter over her, as she must be freezing. I decide to leave the rest of the orange and a half empty bag of dill chips for when she wakes up.
I don't want someone with a voracious hunger like that staying in my house.
Should I have even brought her here?
Guess I'll have to see...
