Ah, your explosion animation is great! I had just as much fun stacking up more UFOs to explode (after getting exploded myself) as I did when dodging 'em—I just kept jumping! Also I'd be curious to see how your game would play differently if the jump was made to be variable; it feels like it's a single height jump now, and I think moving to a variable one (or increasing the variability if it is already) would let the player build up skills to navigate some of the trickier collision scenarios with more finesse.
