So, the eggs came from the lizards right? And they would normally sell them to the shopkeeper. So the question is, is it organ trafficking, child trafficking, or just selling property?

Another disturbing thing is that they practice cannibalism(filial cannibalism to be exact), and they even ferment them, which can be counted as slow murder.

They do not incubate them or anything, there is no lizard actually alive inside, just whatever you'd find by breaking an egg in your kitchen, it's pretty much getting eggs irl. but with the bonus of tons of sex, and it also helps their economy, tons of needs satisfied easily with not even needing to keep, feed and slay animals. You also have to consider it's  a different species and tribes tend to have their own culture irl too (some involving things we'd condemn in our modern society), so i find it fair and realistic we see it as a bit quirky (i'd definitely be down for it if i were a lizard myself, very convenient with no drawbacks for anyone).
