Personally I think recreating the gameplay of these handheld games is only one aspect of preserving these machines. Equally important is the handhelds themselves, which makes up a lot of the experience of playing with these devices. Sure, emulators can overlay some artwork to show a scan of the device, but being able to rotate the device around and push the buttons really gives you a much better feel for what these machines were like. And including the original packaging and instructions with the game really sets RetroFab apart. In my opinion it is definitely preservation.
