There is a guy who made a co-op mood and it works well imo. But it needs polishing and the guy said he will wait for a full release to keep working on it.

there is a mod for co-op but it is very unfinished and buggy!

Ignore that other guy who just copied and pasted the front page QnA stuff... Thankfully the community is highly dedicated to this game modding wise, and the MP/Co-op mod was actually released to AT LEAST try it out on a specific game version. But yeah don't hold your breath for official MP support though.
