Just finished my copy- worth every penny to have been a backer and been a small part of making sure this got to print! After getting the preview at MCAF, I knew I needed more and the full version has fed me so thoroughly!
The story dances and glides across the pages and the pace is matched to the mood impeccably! The worldbuilding is naturalistic and ties into characters in a very tantalizing way, without needing any unwieldy lorewalls, and leaves you wanting just enough.
Lalo hurts my heart as someone predisposed to self-destructive knightly-types, perfectly balanced (unbalanced?) by Oz's internal conflict. So tasty. But ouch.
I'd read much, much more from this universe and setting, and the cast as shown will continue to rattle in my brain (Adi. ADI. HELLO. PLEASE. I NEED HER. IN COMPLETELY NORMAL WAYS.)
