Setbacks, Bugs, and a dead Arc750

I obliterated a graphics card that wasn’t intended to run a 1080p monitor, 4k monitor, and display tablet simultaneously for extended periods of time. Luckily I had a backup, but getting my system up and running amidst my other private projects caused major setbacks on the starter kit.

Coming back to this project after those delays, I ran the web demo and found a slew of bugs that I either didn’t feel like mentioning or simply missed.

  • The camera clips through objects ever so slightly, revealing OOB
  • Wall surfing continues to gain momentum even if the player is not moving, this is somewhat funny, in a specific spot of the surf pit you can amass a lot of momentum against a wall then slide down to its shallow end to launch yourself really far. Needs tuning, but I don’t think I’ll be removing it on purpose.
  • Zooming in and out with the scroll wheel of the mouse is quite buggy. Sometimes you need to use the direction keys for it to work at all. Movement affects the ability for the scroll-wheel to work for some reason.
  • The player model flickers in and out of view upon making the initial zoom out of first person, it needs to stay invisible until the camera is far enough away not to be clipped inside of the model.

I’ll leave this topic open to any poor soul who gives the web demo (or downloadable sample game) a try. If you find more bugs, please do tell, I’ll be doing my best to stabilize these issues before moving on with more features.
