After some playtasting, here's some changes that may be implemented in the future:

  • All units move on the movement phase, rather than one per turn.
  • Add charge mechanic: "declare how many squares the unit needs to move to be in combat range to an enemy. Flip a number of coins equal to that number divided by 2, rounding down. If they're all heads, move to that position and proceed to attack. On any tails, it doesn't move. The unit can then attack."
  • Change it so all units move omnidirectionally. If I implement this, I'll also change bishop’s “move as he moved” to moving diagonally unimpeded for as many squares as wanted in one direction.
