Hey there. Thanks for listing the keyboard defaults on the Itch page. I'd like to know if I can take those defaults, plug them into JoyToKey, and get a result that doesn't cause interference. If it doesn't, I'd love to endorse the game on my new site, conflexgames.com

There's one way to find out — why don't you try? Controller support ain't on our current work schedule so I can't sink dev time into it, but I'd be interested in hearing if it works for you.

I would love to run the tests myself, but I don't want to pay $20 and then find out the tests failed. If you email me a copy of the game, I'm willing to pay $7 for that. If your team doesn't have time to build controller support, I see that as a good thing. It's actually what I'm looking for.

Sure! What's your email?

Hey there. I ran the tests, and it turns out that the game works 100% with JoyToKey, so I am happy to buy it, and endorse it on conflexgames.com

Although it sounds counterintuitive, the game does something which I love : the Controls menu has absolutely nothing to do with controllers. The game is essentially point-and-click. There are some keyboard commands, but they appear to be optional, so you can pick and choose which ones are attached to a controller. I used a Gamecube controller in latter tests, and it basically made the game feel like Fire Emblem : Path of Radiance. Playing this with a controller will naturally feel a bit crazy to some people, and they do have a point, because mouse movement is somewhat smoother. But, that doesn't mean controllers won't work. I think Lancer Tactics does a lot of things right.
