MY REVIEW: This was one of my very first solo rpg journaling games I started with, and I believe it is probably one of the best out there if not the best. It's mechanics are minimal enough to make for a meditative and relaxing game play, but with just enough variety for it never to become boring. It kind of blew my mind regarding the potency of a solo rpg games. The foundation of Lighthouse is in its connection between the type of weather chosen at the beginning of each round and the player's emotional state. The whole game play unfolds intuitively from out of that, and I was amazed at how connected the story became to my internal state. The stories surrounding the upkeep and observation at the Lighthouse becomes the means by which one can shine a light into the more subconscious depths of one's mind and soul. It is not just a game, but a means of contemplation and self-expression. It opened up a whole new realm of possibility for me as an artist and storyteller, and delighted me with its creative potential! I love it so much and highly recommend for beginners who are new to solo rpgs!
