I've returned to this game after some time and I've still reached the same conclusion after viewing both endings: it's a weird, problematic, boyish, masturbatory SA survivor savior fantasy. While Angel has some interesting dialogue, it doesn't save the game when everything else in it feels so gross and almost like an endorsement of Lee.
It's nice seeing someone actually see that stuff. Everyone here is praising this game and obsessing over it, while I personally cannot see this game's worth being tossed out thanks to the ending. Everything was going so well up until the creator decided it was a good idea to create "a very fucked up twist that'll shock the readers".
