Midnight Special is a short but well-crafted horror game with an incredibly immersive atmosphere. The pixel-art visuals and eerie soundtrack instantly pull you into its unsettling midnight train setting. While the jump scares aren’t particularly original, a few scenes genuinely got me—especially the first time I encountered that thing

The puzzles aren’t too difficult but require careful observation of the environment, making it great for exploration-focused players. The story is fragmented, leaving you to piece together clues yourself—a narrative style I really enjoyed. That said, the ending felt a bit abrupt, and I wish there was more content to expand on it.

As for flaws, the controls can feel a bit clunky at times, and sprinting doesn’t always respond smoothly. The game is also quite short, taking roughly an hour to finish. But considering it’s free, the overall experience is definitely worth a try!
