Runie’s Multo is his first best-friend. The boy he grew up with all of his life, the one who’s so close to him that he even calls his mother “mom” as well, the one who lived with him in the Philippines and who lived with him now in the US, the one he can confidently say to everyone that they’re partners for life.
He was the same boy who turned his back on Runie and never looked back. Unknowingly burning the last bridge to ever tether him to the boy.
Should he have known, that outcome was the consequence. Maybe he would have told him why he did what he did.
But Runie isn’t interested in the present Luan, not while he was still mourning the version of him that promised to stand by him through whatever came their way.
