hi, not my 1st time downloading games on itch.io but i created an account just so i could leave a message here too.
i'm nonbinary & neutral/fem presenting. but besides online ppl, a few irls & one family member, no one knows. so i'm living my life as a woman in society.
AND most importantly, i'm a child sexual assault and rape survivor.
AND i have many sexual fantasies/kinks that aren't conventional. domination (whether i'm the one dominated or not) & rape are part of them. YET i would NEVER act on them because some are just morally WRONG and i'm well aware of that. they're only FANTASIES i don't wish to reproduce irl. i know from first-hand experience how much these things can break you.
that trauma changed me forever, maybe i wouldn't have liked such content without it, maybe i still would have. that's not important: at the end of the day, watching/reading/playing/writing fictional content that includes those kinks allows me to :
- accept my sexuality & learn more about it
- HEAL myself by gaining CONTROL over my trauma.
there are HUNDREDS scientific studies proving that having kinks & paraphilias isn't a bad thing (whether you went through sexual trauma OR NOT), and that fictional content is a safe way to experience them (and regain control if you've been a victim). my therapist confirmed that. but people are craving validation, and act self-righteous online.
my stance on this is that people can enjoy fictional content like this even if they haven't been victims as long as they don't hurt anyone. which is more often than not the case.
the era we're living in right now is downright scary — fascism is knocking at our doors, but many people who claim to be anti-fascist and so on still don't recognize how it manifests. they don't or refuse to understand that supporting the censorship of fictional AND unrelated-to-real-events content is actually right-wing & fascist. one honest look at recent history would be enough to understand that, but people are not ready to have an actual conversation on sexual abuse/rape, and overall, sexuality.
i didn't even know about this game before i saw a tweet about it today, and i'm not supposed to spend any more money for the month (as in, i'm in trouble lol), but i really wanted to show my support & was scared the game would eventually disappear from everywhere. so i bought it. these people really don't understand the PR they're doing, even if it's """bad""" LOL.
sorry for the long-ass message, but i'm just sick of it. puritan culture has also taken over fandoms lately, and it scares me.

You're blaming the whole discourse against this game into right wing conservationist parties while acting as an ally of those who defend it.
Uh, we are not left wing. We are not right wing. We come from different places. We are not defending the game in the name of a political party. We are against censorship and immature thinking. Both left moralists and right traditionalists are to blame in these matters. In the case of this game, it's the left wing moralist that seem to be more triggered, since the news the game made became viral in social activists groups and woke gaming outlets.

I read your story and how you are a victim of rape but you didn't argument why you blame right wing politics with the censorship of games like this. I read your story and there's no connection between the 2 things. You seem to think censorship comes from fascism, and you think fascism is inherently right wing. Is that it? I think you're making assumptions about the nature of those against this game. Again, those against this game come from feminists subreddits and woke gaming outlets. Last I knew woke and right wing are enemies. How's your statement making sense?
For example I knew about the virality of this game through a gender awareness subreddit called r/TwoXChromosomes and read here about people coming from Kotaku and other woke outlet I forgot the name of. It has a "V".

trust me, a lot of lgtbq+ folks born before 00's are actually pro-kinks because they experienced first hand the consequences of censorship. it's the new generation that's ruining things and using serious, activists' term to berate everything they simply don't like. the other older lgbtq+ who are partaking in this are just looking for clout. we're normal lmao.
a lot of us won't express our thoughts about kinks in public spaces though because the consequences can be very serious. online, we can get doxxed and so on because of that. i've been called a "pick me" or a "liar" from supposed "anti-fascists" lgbtq+ people simply because i'm pro-fiction lol.
