The human mind is capable of dreaming. Have you tried? Sometimes dreams look like nightmares. Good and bad dreams, potentially are both unforgettable and full of emotions. Do my nightmares make me a villain towards society? No.
What makes you a villain, an anti social, is to harm society. Do visual novel readers harm society? You seem to think so. Does your perception of Visual Novelist mindset follow a logical background? Your answer would be funded in ignorance of the human nature, I bet. What is the train of thoughts that brings the players to the streets to start raping women and be misogynistic? The human thinks with reason because we are half animals, and the animal kingdom, as all others in nature, follow the laws of nature, and all the laws of nature follow reason; nothing is without purpose in nature, everything has its place, everything is logical and balanced.

Something I learned through the years is that what's truly dangerous to society is ignorance, poor education.
You know one big element of ignorance of the human nature in society? Censorship. People have a hard time exploring their nature because the arts exploring it get censored or shamed as immoral.
Morality is the excuse for censorship of the people in power to create fear and control over the ignorant cattle.
