I initially thought you were alluding to a more negative story path that involved choosing easily hidable transformations and taking actions to try to reverse them, like for example spending extra time exercising to try and regain muscle mass, cutting your hair back short, or choosing things like the waist transformation that can be hidden from your friends. And eventually focusing on magic to fully reject the curse. Like as an expansion of hiding what happened from your parents and friends, and how Ethan felt a need to keep it a secret at the beginning.
