You can do it when you support the provisional goverment with the media , strenghten the  city militias , prosecuting the bolsheviks and build up your party support when you help workers with food shortages ,  and then you must be on the site of the goverment when the coup comes , i did it with the Sr but when you manage that the bolsheviks don't get a majority in the petrograd sowjet they can't start a coup
