I can heartily recommend both the writing and artwork in these stories, although I will readily admit that I was far more interested in the stories of Kenta, Wakatake, and Mrs. Arakawa than Eveline and Gundrid. Just personal preference.
I’m a huge sucker for mythology and folklore used creatively in storytelling, especially with folks interacting with mythological beings in a nuanced and intimate manner, whether that be platonic, romantic, or sexual in nature. On that note, these stories are a home run, full of vulnerability and mutual exploration.
Like a sparkling cordial for the heart. A horny sparkling cordial.
