Hi, the game is still in development so a lot of interactions/mechanisms are still not implemented, further updates will add scenes/events where Mayu will be more proactive in the relationship. Also, the save is automatically done at the beginning of each in-game day, if it still doesn't work, downloading the game would certainly fix it.
It is an incentive, same as being able to play the latest update in advance, for supporters on subscribestar
