I was definitely going for more of a "hybrid" approach. I feel my "classical" composing chops could use improvement, but I'm glad I was able to make the best of my current skill set. It's exhilarating taking kind of a "best of both worlds" approach and mixing old with new, western with non-western, etc. I still have a long way to go, but I'd like to make more music like this in the future.
