I know you haven't asked for feedback on the user experience but I'm going to write some anyways, because I know it can trip up other players.

1. On all the instructions pop ups, have instructions that you can close it with the "S"-key.

2. It's hard to cycle thru pop up notes that have more than one message.
  
3. Maybe add a view that collects all quests and pop up notes that you have read, like a check list. It's kind of  easy to miss stuff as it is now.

You're asking for too much hand holding.  Its not that kind of game.  No check list.  No sparkly arrows telling you where to go.  No constant reminders of what to do.  You figure it out, and try things.  Without any challenge at all there's no accomplishment.
