The audacity to call yourself a fan while you're here swearing because nachosama didn't give the option you wanted. How can you even call yourself a fan when you're putting such a rude comment? You're literally a fake fan who just decide to insult the dev once you didn't get what you wanted, ain't no way real fans will do the same thing as you did. You can't even understand the difference between update and remake even when you think the remake didn't came out as much as you expected. Shame on you and congrats for making a comment that discouraging the dev to continue TNMN, the real fans gonna be so pissed and disappointed with you people ๐๐
an adult uses one(1) swear word, 20 dead 40 injured.
Also are they actually referring to it as a remake? Isn't it just the version from itchio with new features added/some removed? It doesn't look like they redrew anything, unless they rewrote the code? And what do you mean "discouraging the dev to continue TNMN" is the version on steam not finished?
"an adult uses one(1) swear word, 20 dead 40 injured" Dawg, you've got to be kidding me ๐๐๐
Okay so first of all, lemme tell you something clear so you can at least understand the real situation. Nacho already stated multiple times that the Itch.io version is already finished, the remake on Steam is another version. Both version are built on different frameworks. Despite some of the art assets may look the same, the mechanics and coding were entirely redone from scratch to fit Steam's requirement. The whole remake is build for Steam version, it's not really like he can simply drag and drop the same files and BOOM- "TNMN remake is finished within just a few hours, now i can put it on Steam, yay!!!".
Second of all, i've said this multiple times in the comment that devs also need to protect their games from piracy because Nacho stated that his game has been stolen by some people multiple times and they made a profit off of it. It's also one of most valid reason if he doesn't want to update the Itch.io version anymore and move the game to Steam because Steam has stronger protection than Itch.io and it makes it harder for casual players who want to get a free copy of it.
Third of all, when i said "discouraging the dev to continue TNMN", it means that TNMN will literally have no continuation since people backlashed him that much. If people here were a bit nicer and give some actual constructive criticisms to make the game better, i believe he will be motivated to improve the game and learn from his mistakes, not blatantly disrespecting him to the point he doesn't want to do his other future works as well.
Conclusion is, people didn't give him a break because of his mistakes, and he discouraged to continue TNMN and his other future works because of all of the disrespect toward him. I'm really grateful if he still decide to come back and continue to improve the game, but if he never comes back, then i will NEVER forgive those who already insulted him and his game that much.
My dude I really don't care, you can't justify this to me. You can't say they did nothing wrong and say they made a mistake. And this wasn't a silly mistake either, it was an intention decision. If they loose support because of their decisions that's on them. I simply said I was disappointed in their actions and wouldn't support them in the future, there was no name calling or anything like that so I don't see why you think I'm being unfair. If a dev looses the support of their fans, that's not on anyone but them.
You don't care, huh? Okay, but your comment is one of them that actually bothered me. If you don't want to buy the remake and don't want to support him anymore because you got disappointed, i don't care as well, but saying "the blatant willingness to f*ck over "fans" is truly "disheartening"" is like you treated his mistakes like a "betrayal" while he literally apologized for many times. No actual real TNMN fans will count you as a fan if you stated such a bad opinion. I think you don't fully understand the whole situation either so i just assume that you got so disappointed to the point you need to bring the word "fans" as well just to justify your own disappointment! ๐งโโ๏ธ
It's not a "mistake" it was an intentional decision. Plenty of games are available on steam and itch.io, they didn't accidentally switch it to steam exclusively. Also, the contradictory statements of "um actually it's a completely different game " and "I wish I could honor your previous purchase of the game I made a mistake UwU" really irks me. Its either a completely different game and they shouldn't have felt the need to offer a steam key(and shouldn't have removed the option to buy this one) or it's the same game and they should've just continued updating it here.
I mean, I kinda feel like that proves my point about how they should've just done it from the beginning. I get that they didn't know at first they were allowed to upload it on both but they should've actually read the steam guidelines or looked it up? Also, this kinda proves that their "it's a different game I don't owe the people who bought the first one anything" statement was definitely just them trying to make excuses XD.
