Perhaps. If nothing else and in hopes it helps, I spot that the game detects the anolog sticks just fine when you switch on the "Xbox 360" thing in the options. 

It switches off all the keyboard inputs though, so I was thinking, if theres a way for the game to detect the controller and keyboard+mouse inputs at the same time, at least folk like myself could just use steam config or something for the time being.
