Doesn't sound like you're getting skills that resolve your issue. Most of them can be gotten under the Stardom tree. Get skills like Loyal Makers, All-Star, Fan Magnet, etc. Even under Creator you can get the Marketing (both levels) and Critical Shots and Perfect Shots. Also go invest in an Active Campaign. Since you're concerned about subscribers then you'll want Trial Campaign in particular. Last but not least (and I haven't confirmed this yet, but it's on the FAQ) you can complete Celeste's questline to stop her from stealing followers.
