Where. Is. All. The romance, girl?? The beginning was not so bad, but then no kissing, very weak and little flirting, and even no touching hands or anything... Veeeery boring, was very disappointed, a lot of text and no love at all. One of the d*cks when he was asked if our heroine is his first love, he just blurted "yOu hAvE grEat imAgInation..." Ummmm what?? Do you even know what otome is?)) What "routes" actually are? Maybe try reading some real otome before writing the same genre... I know it's for kids and no sex content or something, but not even touching... (there were 2 HUGS during route Oo) Fantasy is not bad, but it's ONLY fantasy here and no romantic lines at all 🤦♀️👎
Honestly, this game prioritizes the story and characters over the romance.
Which is NOT a bad thing, at all.
Unbroken Hours as a creator has always focus more on storytelling and complex and troubled characters, rather than typical otome romance plots you'd see in something like Re:Alistair++ from a similar timeframe, and leans more into those moments were connection is held, before life gets in the way again. When I was younger, (back in the lemmasoft days and the ren'py website and the OG Unbroken Hours Website days) I felt similarly to you, want more of my character in romantic moments with the characters we meet or know. Though, even then, it was more impactful for me to have endings that came from the character's own situations and lives, of what the world will and wont allow for the people in it.
It doesn't need to be like other otome games, because it is a full story, and a full world to see the corners of. The threads that make you realize your character will never have the full understanding of the world with any one path.. but you as the player get to see and realize how the world is tied together is frankly, one of my favorite things about this game. :)
If you want a more otome style game, their game 'Heartstring Bugs' might be closer to what you'd be looking for from this dev <3
tl;dr : its okay that its not like other otome games, its still fun and an awesome read.
