You can select the file and right click > Open; the first time it will block it from running, but if you click Cancel and try it again, on the second try it will ask if you're sure and then let you open it :)
I got around this by opening it from the finder app using the left click small menu, which makes the application an exception to usual security protocols, if anyone else has this problem
