this game is incredible! if you like surrealism, art to any sort of academic level, religious horror, mysteries, or story games, you will LOVE this.
despite being an rpg maker game which makes it feel a little silly at first you forget that it is one as your playthrough goes on thanks to the quality. it also personally adds a nostalgic charm to me as someone who loved warrior cats rpg maker games and ao oni as a kid. i also just love being able to explore the world, as i could easily see this game being a visual novel but the extra mile was went and i'm very glad it isn't one for the sake of bringing the world to life.
this game is super replayable as its very easy to miss certain things and your choices lead to different things as well. it's also full of mystery and great if you like media where you have to piece things together beyond a surface level and theorize.
the art is incredible as well, the coloring is masterful and you can tell that there is a lot of passion for the craft. i can't get enough of this game's aesthetic.
my only complaints are that sometimes it is a little hard to know what you're supposed to do/where you're supposed to go and either i'm stupid and cant figure it out or you cant really look at items after you get them, meaning if you get a paper with a code you have to remember it/write it down. i also do wish leon's death was more of a surprise. it isn't present in the warnings but there are several moments of substance usage in this game which caught me off guard, so there's that but i wouldn't say that part is a complaint, just a caution to anyone looking for any further warnings.
overall though i'm obsessed lol. the catacombs part of the game alone was my FAVORITE so savor it when you get there.
