Having the exact same problem here
There were numerous claims about this issue so i re-tested the game... and like you i am unable to get past stage 1 for emily. I don't understand how i could miss something so essential. I will try to solve it as soon as possible.
Should be solved by now (with the new file uploaded 5 minutes ago). I truly apologize for the issues and I hope you'll like the game.
